ProStor adds remote replication to InfiniVault removable disk system
ProStor Systems Inc. made InfiniVault 2.0 available this week, adding remote replication capability to the removable disk system.

With Version 2.0, InfiniVault customers can send copies of data to remote sites for disaster recovery (DR). It can also create read/write vaults to allow third-party applications and administrators to control retention policies, and includes a second gigabit Ethernet (GbE) port to segregate data from management traffic.

Mellanox launches 40 Gig InfiniBand switches
Mellanox Technologies Ltd. has made its latest IS5000 40 Gbps InfiniBand switches and FabricIT management suite generally available. The IS5000 modular director switch scales from 108 to 648 ports, and the new IS5030 fixed switch is a 1U 36-port device. FabricIT is used to manage all of Mellanox's modular switches. Mellanox also said Hewlett-Packard Co., will offer its 40 Gbps InfiniBand adapters and switches as part of the HP Extreme Scale-Out (ExSO) portfolio.

Voltaire 40 Gig InfiniBand switches part of HP ExSO portfolio
Voltaire Ltd. said its 40 Gbps InfiniBand switches are available for HP ProLiant SL6000 Scalable System, part of the new HP Extreme Scale-Out (ExSO) portfolio introduced this month. The solution is targeted at scale-out data centers that enable high-performance computing (HPC), as well as cloud-based services and Web 2.0 businesses. Voltaire also rolled out Open MPI Accelerator software designed to boost performance of Open MPI-based applications over InfiniBand and 10 GbE connectivity.

QLogic introduces 10 GbE adapters
QLogic Corp. expanded its data networking portfolio with the 3100 Series Intelligent Ethernet Adapters. They offer 10 Gbps Ethernet connectivity for bandwidth-intensive applications such as virtualization, database clustering, IP content delivery and grid computing, and are compatible with VMware Inc. VMware vSphere 4.0, Microsoft Windows Server 2008 Hyper-V and Citrix Systems Inc. XenServer 5.2 hypervisors.

SGI releases high capacity InfiniteStorage 6120
SGI Inc. rolled out the InfiniteStorage 6120 with 60 drives in each 4U enclosure. The 6120 scales to 120 TB in an 8U pair, with up to 11 enclosures or 660 TB in a single rack. It also has four 8 Gb Fibre Channel (FC) host ports and enables storage tiering in one 60-bay dense enclosure with both SAS and SATA drives.

NetGear launches high-density network storage solution for SMBs
NetGear Inc. added a high-density network storage system to its family of ReadyNAS products for small- and medium-sized businesses (SMBs). The ReadyNAS 3200 is a 2U 12-bay unified storage platform that provides up to 24 terabytes in a single system, redundant power supplies, dual Gigabit Ethernet ports at an SMB price point and up to 24 TB of capacity.
